Bathtub, shower and tile refinishing in Raleigh

Give worn or dated bathroom surfaces a clean, cohesive finish without removing everything that still works.

Bathroom restoration

A dramatic update with less disruption.

Professional refinishing can renew the appearance of many porcelain, fiberglass, acrylic and tile surfaces. Our process starts with careful evaluation and preparation, because a lasting result depends on what happens before the finish is applied.

We serve Raleigh-area homeowners, property managers and apartment communities with single-room projects, surface repairs and coordinated unit turns.

Often called bathtub reglazing or resurfacing, refinishing renews the existing finish. We can evaluate a tub, a shower or the tile surround together, depending on the condition of each surface. We serve Raleigh and the Triangle, including Cary, Apex, Durham and nearby communities.

Good candidates for refinishing

  • Dated surface colors
  • Worn or dull finishes
  • Hard-to-clean tile
  • Minor chips or surface damage
  • Sound tubs staying in place
  • Turn-ready rental units

A new coating does not fix the underlying damage. Chips, cracks, rust, peeling coatings and delamination need to be evaluated before work begins. Tell us about previous refinishing or repairs so we can discuss the work your surface needs. See our fiberglass repair service for damaged fiberglass tubs and showers.

Planning your project

Prepare for bathroom refinishing

Remove toiletries, towels, decor and personal items from the work area before the appointment. Move important nearby belongings out of the workspace or cover them completely. We protect necessary nearby surfaces as part of the work; clearing the area helps us prepare it properly.

Let us know whether the home or apartment is occupied, how we will access the bathroom and your preferred timing. Confirm when the bathroom can be used again before making plans around the work.

Managing rental units? Our property-management services include coordinated refinishing for apartment communities and unit turns.

Common questions

Bathroom refinishing FAQs

Is refinishing the same as replacing a tub?

No. Refinishing restores the existing surface in place, while replacement removes the fixture and may require plumbing, tile and disposal work.

Can damage be repaired before refinishing?

Many chips, cracks and worn areas can be addressed, but suitability depends on the material and extent of the damage. Repairs and refinishing are separate parts of the work. Photos help us evaluate the right next step and discuss any repair needs before applying a finish.

How much does bathtub or tile refinishing cost in Raleigh?

We provide a complimentary project estimate. Send your ZIP code, the surfaces you want refinished and details of any damage or previous coating. The amount of surface area, preparation and repair work can affect the scope. A tub-only project and a tub with surrounding tile need different estimates.

How soon can I use the tub or shower after refinishing?

Confirm the return-to-use time for your particular project with K&B Solutions. The finish needs time to cure, and its appearance alone does not tell you when it is ready for water and cleaning. Call 919.791.8950 if you are unsure before using it.

Can you refinish both the bathtub and surrounding tile?

We offer bathtub, shower and tile refinishing. Send wide photos of the full area and close-ups of damage so we can evaluate which surfaces are suitable and discuss them in one project estimate.

Do you work in occupied apartments?

Yes. We coordinate access and the work area with property teams and residents when occupied-unit service is appropriate.
